CLUSTER FOR INNOVATION IN DEFENSE, SAFETY AND SECURITY

The innovation cluster is an open cooperation platform for all actors in the security chain. It is the perfect ecosystem for innovation in a public and private security and defense environment.

This particular cluster has a quadruple helix structure operating amongst four different parties (hence quadruple), in which government and security services (1), companies (2), educational and knowledge institutions (3), professional end users and society (4) interact and work together on an active basis to develop innovations that should lead to a safer society. It is a network in which all nodes are interconnected. The cluster is a neutral and objective environment for an active and constructive public private cooperation on the level of innovation  in the safety domain.

AT THE CENTRE OF THE COOPERATION:

DIALOGUE

Demand driven innovation: safety issues are turned into research and development by means of an active dialogue resulting in innovative solutions.

Market driven innovation: the offer in the market is better adapted to the actual needs of the government, security services and the society as a whole.

INNOVATION

All the initiatives that the cluster will undertake are intended to develop and realise innovation through technological, social and administrative novelties.

INNOVATION PROJECTS

Starting from the demand and the need for actually working solutions, projects are launched. Applied scientific research, experiments and fablabs provide in short term the validation and integration of the innovation.

INTERNATIONAL NETWORK

The innovation cluster is a national cluster with an international reputation. Far-reaching cooperation agreements with similar international clusters provide a very powerful innovation potential.
